El hotel tiene una ubicación estupenda, nos pareció muy acogedor, fueron super amables desde la chica que nos atendió a la llegada, al resto de personal que estuvo durante el desayuno, que fue espectacular.

Por poner un pero, no pudimos abrir las ventanas ya que había muchos mosquitos y se te metían en la habitación, pero obviamente esto no es problema del hotel.

It could be a great place, but…

The hotel is located at the heart of the medieval town, looking onto the marina. We were welcomed by friendly staff that had our key ready to go the minute we arrived. The rooms were spacious, nicely furnished overlooking the marina on the 2nd floor with a little balcony. The beds we large and comfortable with power outlets near the head of the bed on both sides. We didn't try the bar (closed) nor the restaurant.

There was an overall run-down feeling. Little details like 2 lights out of 3 were broken in our bathroom, or the door didn't close on its own, no stairs (you had to take the lift each time), missing buttons in the lift, etc. Avoid room 207 as it is located on the end of the hotel overlooking the Pirate restaurant that is very noisy early in the morning (6:30am). Avoid the breakfast. It's way too expensive for what is offered (small buffet, little choice, not much fresh, coffee from a machine). Two of our rooms had an awkard shower in a bath tub, no curtain, and a very short pipe, with nowhere to fix it to. The third room had a walk in shaower. Asthmatic hair dryer (like in many hotels).

Very good location. We booked a room with balcony and a lake view. The room we were given had a huge tree right outside so you couldn’t see anything. We asked to move and were given a better room on a higher floor, which had a lovely view.

The location by the lake front.

The overall decor of the hotel is dated as was the room we stayed in, and some of the light fittings were not working. The room layout is not very practical and the over bath shower is impractical and difficult to operate and use safely.

Lovely location, enjoyable breakfast but overall could be better!

Very comfortable room in a prime location overlooking the lake. Large breakfast selection.

Unfortunately I did not find the staff very welcoming. We hoped to get a glass of wine once we had checked in and were given a cocktail menu. A few minutes later I asked about a wine menu and was given another cocktail menu and then a few minutes later told the bar was closed. This was disappointing given the location and as a guest it would have been nice to enjoy, instead it encourages guests to go to the restaurant next door which were happy to serve some mid afternoon drinks!

The location by the lake is gorgeous. located right on the water in this gorgeous médiéval Town, The room are very spacious

The access to the hotel by car is impossible, the room has a lake view through a very small window, the Bathroom equipment were not in good condition

Ok unless you need parking

Lovely hotel, although a bit tired in places and let down by the parking situation.

The parking was a nightmare. The hotel has a parking garage around 10 mins walk up the hill from the hotel charged at €10 per night. The entry keypad is faulty which clearly the staff are well aware of. Three times we were stuck outside the garage (for around 20 minutes) with the staff unwilling to come and assist, simply suggesting we used a different finger or pressed harder on the keypad to get the door to open. When staff did eventually come to help, despite protestations that humidity affected the keypad, they were also unable to get the garage to open and had to use the separate door and internal mechanism. Several (international cost) calls to reception were dealt with with contempt (one hang up), a general poor attitude and we came away wishing we had made a different hotel choice.

great waterside break

Lake view from my room, very spacious and quiet. Plenty of things to do and friendly staff. Clean room. Dressing gown and slippers provided.

Carpets looked tired in reception. I felt sad at the huge waste of water in the enormous bath. There was no way to have a shower. In the old village of Yvoire the water pumps are all turned off to conserve water so it seemed like a crime to let all the water in the bath go to waste. Please replace the bathtub with a shower. The heavy bathrobe could maybe just supplied in winter.

Great location for a lakeside break

The setting and the staff. They changed room for us to be helpful because of my walking problems.

The location of the hotel car park. There was no information on the website about how to access the hotel by car if you are disabled. So I had to try and walk which was very stressful.

« Emplacement idéal, mais prestations décevantes. »

L'hôtel Jules Verne est idéalement situé au bord du lac Léman, face au débarcadère qui permet de rejoindre la ville de Nyon. Il est très proche des lieux de baignade également. La décoration est soignée et le personnel est courtois et discret. Bien que situé au cœur d'un lieu très touristique, l'hôtel est calme et agréable.

Hélas, le séjour a été entaché par la manque de propreté. Quand nous sommes entrés dans la chambre, le ménage n'avait pas été fait. Cet incident a été rattrapé rapidement par les femmes de ménage, qui ont remis la chambre en état de façon superficielle (elles ont oublié de faire les toilettes par exemple, et il restait des cheveux sur le sol, et beaucoup de poussière et de cheveux sous les meubles). Par ailleurs, de petites dégradations (lampe de chevet cassée, marques sur les murs, pommeau de douche qui fuit) ne sont pas prises en compte, ce qui est décevant de la part d'un hôtel quatre étoiles. La literie, bien que correcte, n'est pas idéale.
